2014 Silloth Beach Half Marathon & 10K

2014 Silloth Beach Half Marathon & 10K

The second annual Silloth-on-Solway Beach Half Marathon and 10K race will take place on Sunday 17th August 2014.

Organised by Silloth Tourism Action Group (STAG), the Silloth Beach Half Marathon and 10K is a truly unique event. The gruelling course extends from Station Road in the town towards Allonby and back again. There are ample first aid, water stations and first responders. The run is well marshalled  and includes travelling marshalls on quad bikes operating on the beach. A runner service station will be located at Beckfoot (the turnaround for the 10K) and just past Dubmill (turnaround for the Half Marathon).

Starting from Station Road, the 2014 event kicks off at 11.00am with the half marathon leading round the dock area and onto the sands of West Beach. The 10K will also start on Station Road, Silloth, half an hour later at 11:30 am.

Entries can be completed online at Q-Buster.co.uk and late entries can be be taken in a marquee on Silloth Green between 09:00am and 10.30am on the day –  not 11:15am as indicated on some previous information.

Race numbers & Winning Time timing chips will be issued from 09:00 on race day at registration.

Please note that runners must be 17 years or older on race day.

All finishers will receive a goodie bag including a t-shirt, medal, and a token for a bag of chips! The beach run is great fun, as participants last year will testify, but organisers urge everyone taking part to take care and to follow the advice of the race officials and marshals.
